Operating Results by Division for the Fiscal Year ended March 2009
(April 1,2008~March 31,2009)

Information Network Services

Orders received by Information Network Services fell by 5.0% from the previous year to ¥116,279 million, while sales increased by 4.5% to ¥129,477 million. Sales by the Information Systems (hardware) business rose by 3.1% from the previous year to ¥45,775 million, meanwhile, due to robust sales in the public-sector market in the Tokyo area. Sales by the Software Services business increased by 5.3% from the previous year to ¥83,702 million due to healthy sales of IT management and other solution services.

Sales of solution services were led by our proprietary “WebAS Component” and “IT Management Service” solutions.

“WebAS Component” services showing growth included our “WebAS Retail” product management system, which is designed to provide full support for specialty retail businesses throughout the merchandising cycle, and our “WebAS Logistics” solution, which enables real-time management of the progress of operations as well as of loading and unloading activities.

“IT Management Services” that received particularly favorable receptions from customers included various LCM services that provide comprehensive support for their IT lifestyles by offering one-stop solutions to their needs in the areas of system operation, asset management and hardware and software maintenance, among others. In the field of outsourcing services, meanwhile, we are striving to reinforce functions and expand services further in connection with our WebOffice and other core menu offerings.

We established a new joint venture company with Base Co., Ltd. in China’s Jiangsu Province in December 2008 with the aim of strengthening our offshore development structure in China and laying the groundwork for future development of a solutions business in the Chinese market.

Maintenance Services

Orders received by Maintenance Services fell by 11.2% from the preceding year to ¥11,211 million, and sales decreased by 11.5% to ¥11,225 million.

This decline in both orders received and sales from their year-before levels reflected a downturn in maintenance service prices associated with falling hardware prices as well as the transfer of part of our maintenance operations in the Eastern Japan region to a separate Fujitsu Group company during the previous fiscal year.

We are conducting a review of our structures, including the fostering of maintenance personnel as service business sales representatives or IT operation engineers, in order to respond to expand our service business.

Construction Services

Orders received for Construction Services slipped by 5.7% from the previous year to ¥11,345 million, and sales fell by 7.6% to ¥11,366 million.

Although both orders received and sales declined due to sluggish growth in construction related to information systems such as large server installation, construction of communication systems such as office IP infrastructure and mobile phone base stations as well as construction for installation of security systems such as vein authentication systems remained strong.

We pursued business negotiations with respect to disaster countermeasures and to conducting office environment diagnoses for purposes of maintaining refreshing environments. We also plan to focus on expanding sales of building management system construction that clarifies electricity usage and CO2 emissions and supports verification of energy-saving effects.
